Mushrooms on Stamps

"I love mushroom stamps because they often come in such bright colours and really show the huge diversity we have across the world.

One thing I learned quickly was that the mushrooms or fungi shown on a postage stamp often wasn't a native species!"

"While I do have an interest in postal history and love leafing through different kinds of ephemera, my favourite thing is receiving a package of new, bold and brilliant mushroom stamps in the post and adding them to my ever-growing album.

I'm also part of the postcrossing community and always hoping to receive a mycological postcard."

"I got into the hobby purely by accident when I picked up a small stamp packet at a local Sheffield charity shop. I slowly became obsessed with these tiny pieces of art and now my collection has grown so much.

As someone in my 30's, I hope to try and show people the huge number of benefits that come along with a hobby like stamp collecting - it can certainly beat sitting on your phone all evening or rotting in front of the TV!"
