OBITUARY – Donald E Radley
Donald Radley, a member of the Society for many years, died on 1 August 2025 at the age of 92.
He had served for many years on the Committee of the Society and was President in 2007 and 2008.
He was a specialist in overprints, winning best-over awards in Society competitions in 2007 for a display on British Levant, and again in 2013 for a display on GB Overprint Specimens and other awards.
He completely reworked the history of the Society, adding new sections and researching many subjects not covered in previous histories. This was published in 2019 as A History of the Sheffield Philatelic Society 1894–2019.
He is fondly remembered by all his friends for his gentle personality.
James H. Grayson, Secretary
